Brad grew up in the small rural town of Hillsburgh, Ontario, Canada. As a child, he was always playing hockey of one form or another - whether it was on the ice at the local arena during the winter, on the streets and parking lots during the spring & summer, or in living rooms & basements with mini sticks on rainy days.
While many of his friends started playing organized minor hockey at a young age, Brad participated in various skating programs. These programs allowed him to focus on skating techniques that proved invaluable later when he started playing hockey. It wasn’t until Peewee that Brad started playing house league hockey for the Erin Hillsburgh Minor Hockey Association. In his first year of Bantam Brad began to play for the travel team and continued through until Juvenile, playing against teams from all over southern Ontario. While attending college he took time off from competitive hockey to focus on his studies. However, he always found time to play in various local adult leagues or pick-up hockey.
Brad and his wife, Celena have 3 wonderful children, and together they enjoy travelling, skating, and being involved with the hockey program at Skylands.
